Municipal services
The municipal services are run and coordinated by the municipal clerk acting under the authority of the college of mayor and aldermen.
The municipal collector of taxes' duties complete the town's organization chart.
Municipal actions are reinforced by the police and fire service safety roles, each of which is coordinated by their chief.
The municipal clerk's main tasks are to prepare and implement dossiers submitted to the political assemblies, for which he drafts the minutes and carries out the administrative tasks generated by the decisions and strategic choices made by the municipal authorities.
This is why the municipal clerk is often presented as the interface between the elected representatives and the local government, where he acts as the permanent representative of municipal activity.
He countersigns the town's regulations, decrees, publications and correspondence, as well as payment orders. He is not responsible for the substance or timeliness of the decisions made by the municipal authorities but, by his signature, attests the authenticity of the acts as well as the authenticity of the elected representative's signature.
The clerk is also head of personnel (except of the municipal collector of taxes, police and fire service personnel). In this task, he plays a key role especially in terms of the general organization of services and of disciplinary matters.
