Council Committees
The Bouillon town municipal council is represented on two committees to which a certain number of citizens also belong.
1. Local Rural Development Committee (CLDR)
The Local Rural Development Committee is made up of political members and non-political members representing the municipality's villages.
The CLDR was set up on 17 April 1996 in Bouillon in accordance with the Walloon regional executive decree of 6 June 1991. It liaises between the population and the municipal council on everything to do with rural development. The committee acts as a consultative body for the municipal council.
More specifically, the municipal council asks the CLDR to design a draft rural development programme (PCDR) presenting in a harmonious and comprehensive way projects for actions and events presented by the working group and putting these projects in order of priority. In doing this, the CLDR provides continuous consultation between the municipal authorities, the working groups and the population. In this respect, its members are responsible for making the CLDR's discussions known in the community and also for gathering their fellow citizens' opinions.

2. Local Urban Renovation Committee (CLRU)
The Local Urban Renovation Committee is made up of political members and representatives of the population of the districts of Bouillon.
Urban renovation involves a comprehensive and concerted municipal development initiative. It aims to restructure, clean up or regenerate an urban district in order to encourage the local population to stay there and to promote its social and economic function in accordance with its specific cultural and architectural characteristics.
The CLRU was set up in Bouillon on 25 February 1999, pursuant to art. 18 of the Walloon region executive decree of 6 December 1985 on regional subsidies for urban renovation operations.
The committee is basically a consultation, coordination and leadership body liaising with the population of the district. Its task is to give its opinion to the college of aldermen on each main stage of the operation, regarding for instance the definition of the operation, the options for developing the district, etc.
